Every semester, ASI gives ten scholarships to Sac State students. Each scholarship is given in order to support and acknowledge students who are active and involved in the campus community.
In order to be eligible for an ASI scholarship, students must fit the following criteria:
- Be enrolled in at least 12 undergraduate or 6 graduate units
- Be in good academic standing with Sac State at the time of application
- Have completed at least one semester at Sac State at the time of application
The Fall 2019 ASI scholarships are open for application on September 20! Make sure you submit all applications before the deadline on October 18 by 5pm. Students are allowed to submit more than one application, but no student may receive more than one ASI scholarship per academic year.
Students on the ASI Board of Directors or the ASI Scholarship Committee are not eligible for any of the ASI Scholarships.

ASI Dreamer’s scholarship
In commemoration of the signing of the California Dream Act, ASI will provide $500 to five students through the ASI Dreamer’s Scholarship.
asi students with disabilities scholarship
The purpose of the ASI Students with Disabilities Scholarship is to promote and acknowledge students who are active and involved in the Sac State campus community.
In addition to the criteria stated above, in order to be eligible for this scholarship students must:
- Provide a short note confirming registration with the Office of Services to Students with Disabilities (SSWD) on their letterhead
- Be an active contributor/participant in the campus community
asi united states armed forces scholarship
Through the ASI United States Armed Forces Scholarship, ASI will provide $500 to one student per semester.
In addition to the general ASI scholarship eligibility criteria stated above, in order to be eligible for this scholarship students must:
- Provide their military identification card, if they are currently in the U.S. Armed Forces
- Provide a member 4 copy of the DD214 form, if they are veterans
- Veterans must have been honorably discharged from their service

The ASI Memorial Scholarships are only available in Fall and amount to $1000 each.
Arnulfo Lara memorial scholarship
Arnulfo Lara, a former ASI Board member, had the desire to serve both his campus community and the extended community. We are looking for those students who, like Arnulfo Lara, have demonstrated a sincere commitment and action to community service—both on campus and in the greater Sacramento area.
In order to be eligible for this scholarship, students must have an unmet need from Financial Aid for the academic year of the scholarship as described by the University and verified by the Financial Aid Office in the amount given by the scholarship.
chris ramos memorial scholarship
Former Sac State student Chris Ramos was an ASI Board member who was especially passionate about environmental issues. We are looking for students who, like Chris Ramos, have demonstrated a sincere commitment and action to the cause of sustainability.
ron tanton memorial scholarship
Former Sac State student Ron Tanton was a non-traditional student who was not only passionate about the issues in student government, but was also a married man with two daughters, working part time as well. We are looking for students like Ron Tanton who, despite the demands of work, family and getting back to school at a later stage of life, still find the time to be active and involved in the campus community.
shaun lumachi memorial scholarship
The purpose of this memorial scholarship is to acknowledge students who have shown great efforts of advocacy.
Shaun Lumachi, a former ASI staff member and California State Student Association Representative, had an incredible passion for advocating for higher education and student rights. We are looking for those students who, like Shaun Lumachi, have demonstrated clear and sincere efforts of advocating for higher education and/or student rights. Applicants should demonstrate how they have been involved on campus actively seeking change to better the lives of those around them.
bradley bayless memorial scholarship
Former ASI Children’s Center staff member Bradley Bayless was an aspiring elementary school teacher who was incredibly passionate about serving children and early childhood education. We are looking for students who, like Bradley Bayless, exemplify a sincere dedication and aspiration to the work of teaching children.
asi department scholarships
The ASI Department Scholarships aim at enforcing the ASI mission by providing additional financial support for students who have the opportunity to experience and grow through our ASI departments. Each department of ASI will provide a $500 scholarship: Aquatic Center, Business Office & Student Shop, Children’s Center, Government Office, Peak Adventures, and Student Engagement & Outreach.
