As students look to return to campus this fall, RHA and ASI have a huge event in store for them. The Residence Hall Association (RHA) has been collaborating with the A-Team (of ASI) to put together a welcome back festival. The Block Party happens on Thursday, September 13th from 4pm – 6pm. It will take place on the Residence Hall Quad, near the front of campus. The A-Team is hoping to bring in a larger crowd this year by adding some new attractions. There will be inflatables, massages, a photo booth, KSSU DJ’s, food, and mocktails. Many departments, organizations and clubs will have booths at the event to help promote their services to the Sac State community.
There will be live music from up-and-coming artist Keznamdi.Kez grew up touring the world with his parents, who are lead singers of the international reggae band Chakula. He was featured on many of their albums, which were recorded in the St. Andrew hills of Jamaica. Keznamdi began to take his musical career to the next level while at Saint Mary’s College in Moraga. He went to SMC to play Division 1 soccer. His unique musical sound is a product of his diverse and well-traveled background: a sweet blend of Reggae, Dancehall, Bongo Flava, R&B, and Rap Music. Keznamdi has shared the stage with artists such as Zion-I, Alma Desnuda, and Dgiin.
This event is open to Sac State students and is FREE.
The first 250 people to attend will get free shirts!
