ASI has a great internship for Sac State students. The initiative was headed by Sarkis Piloyan, the 2011-2012 Business Director. Through the internship program, the student will work at the Capital Public Radio station on campus and will be placed in a department in which the student has interest in. The intern will actively participate in the activities of the department they are placed in and will work closely with Capital Public Radio staff and the community. Actual day to day duties will be determined by Capital Public Radio. Upon completion of the internship, the student will present a portfolio or report of his or her work to the CPR Director of Human Resources and Internship Coordinator, and to the ASI Board of Directors prior to the last Board Meeting of the internship semester.

CPR-01An ideal intern will bring excellent writing skills, the ability to communicate professionally, and an interest in the media.  They will be reliable, and have a professional demeanor and appearance, and of course an interest in a broadcasting, journalism, public policy or related career.

Capital Public Radio’s mission is to provide a trusted source of information, music and entertainment for curious and thoughtful people in efficient, sustainable ways that meet their needs while strengthening the civic and cultural life of the communities we serve.

Associated Students, Inc. serves as the official governing body of the Sacramento State students and through operation and sponsorship of programs and services meets the varied needs of students. They provide experiential education, leadership opportunities, student representation, various business and recreational services, campus life programs and activities that support the campus and greater Sacramento community.
