ASI is inviting 20 Sac State students to attend this year’s California Higher Education Student Summit (CHESS) from March 11-13 for FREE. CHESS is an amazing opportunity that attracts student advocates from across the Golden State, as well as university leaders, higher education policy experts, public officials and alumni. Hosted by the California State Student Association (CSSA), CHESS XXII will encourage and empower students to become change agents advocating for an accessible, affordable and quality system of public higher education for all Californians.
During the three-day conference, students will:
• Learn how to recruit, organize and train volunteers.
• Participate in educational workshops that will contribute to their leadership skills and knowledge of public policy issues.
• Discuss appropriate procedures for successful lobby visits prior to CSU Student Advocacy Day at the state capitol
• Attend networking events and collaborate with other student leaders.
If you are not funded through ASI, applicants can still attend the conference and pay through the CSSA website. Applicants are encouraged to fully respond to the questions on the application and attach a word document with a longer response if necessary.
