Over the next couple of months, Associated Students, Inc. will be holding a set of Election Clinics in order to further explain the process of running for office. Elections officer, Wilson Vang will be covering important topics such as the requirements to run, the board positions available, and a brief background of ASI.
Those elected to serve on the board have the opportunity to receive great resume building experience, leadership skills, networking opportunities and even scholarships to support the student’s educational endeavors. Even more, members will serve as the voice of Sacramento State students and will have the chance to assist with important changes on campus that benefit current and future students.
Some of the positions that are offered include: President, Executive Vice President, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Vice President of Finance, and nine Directors from each of the colleges.
The clinics are not mandatory but are highly recommended as they are designed to give you helpful tips to tricks in order to position yourself for a successful campaign.
With Spring Semester around the corner, Elections can sneak up faster than you can imagine and now is the perfect time to get prepared. If you’re curious about the possibilities of student government, or have served on a board at a previous campus, the Election clinics are the right place to start. The first session will be held on October 14th from 2p.m.-3p.m., with the second session following on November 7th from 10:30a.m.-11:30a.m.
Best of luck!
