On February 20 at 2pm, there will be a Financial Aid Reform rally on the steps of the State Capitol. This press conference will be a great opportunity for students with financial aid concerns to have their voices heard. It is incredibly important that Sacramento State students are represented at this conference, so we encourage you to attend.
This press conference is primarily aimed at reforming certain aspects of the financial aid system to help students more efficiently. Students often face complications related to finances.
For example, huge issues like homelessness and food insecurity are very prevalent at Sacramento State alone. Students frequently struggle to do as well in their courses when they are unable to afford basic needs due to the high price of a college education.
If you would like to use your voice for yourself and for other Sacramento State students who are struggling to make it by, make your voice heard at this financial aid reform press conference.
The press conference is being put on in joint effort between the Cal State Student Association (CSSA), University of California Student Association (UCSA), and Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC). Students from all over the state education system will be invited and we are attempting to show up in as large numbers as possible to show the support behind these reforms.
The State Capitol is located at 1315 10th St in Downtown Sacramento. The rally will begin at 2pm and is free and open to anyone wishing to attend.
