Welcome to Sac State’s “Fleeky Friday”, where Hornets tune in to hear the latest in pop culture and learn what’s weak, and what’s on fleek. So what’s on fleek this week?
This week, everyone’s talking about up and coming artist, Dillon Francis and his latest mix tape that’s fire. Literally entitled, “This Mix Tape Is Fire”. Dillon has been touring nationwide over the past 2 years including his most recent appearances at Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas sponsored by Insomniac Events, and their competitor, Hard Summer Music Festival in Los Angeles.
Dillon Francis began his career circa 2009 as a Moombahton artist, which is a fusion genre of House music and Reggaeton. He has become well known within the Electronic Dance Music (EDM) scene, and has recently crossed over into the mainstream music industry. He has made appearances on MTV and collaborated with DJ Snake on the soundtrack for Furious 7, “Get Low”.
His latest album, “This Mix-Tape Is Fire” drops today with various collaborations with DJs such as Kygo, Calvin Harris, Skrillex, and Bro Safari. After hearing this fire mix tape, I know Dillon Francis is definitely an artist on the rise.
