A Davis-born restaurant is making its way to midtown Sacramento! Not only do they offer a full kitchen, but for our students who are over 21, the restaurant will be featuring an astonishing 88 different beers. They will be located on the block of 16th and O St. Their opening date has yet to be determined, but are hoping to open its doors in the next two months.
Low Brau’s new sister restaurant is set to open its doors in the next few weeks. Block Butcher bar will be featuring in-house cured meats, handmade sausages and for the 21 and older they will be offering artisanal cocktails and an array of whiskey selections. They will also have a small market towards the front of the restaurant for those wanting to purchase cheese, cutting boards, aprons and other similar kitchen items. They will be located at 1050 20th St, next to Low Brau.
As McCromick and Schmick’s announced their closing of business a few months ago, well-known chain restaurant, Claim Jumpers opened its doors. Their large portions and even larger menu is sure to bring a crowd to the J street area. Fun Fact: The happy hour menu is available through Saturday’s, featuring reasonably priced appetizers like their beer-battered cauliflower and irish nachos.
Chef Mike Thiemann, also owner of new restaurant Mother-will be opening Empress Tavern, which will take the opposite perspective of the vegetarian inspired food that Mother features. Their menu will host heartier meals such as rotisserie meats and for the 21 and older, a beer hall. Empress Tavern is expected to open early in Summer 2014. Location has yet to be released.
