When we were young, the rocks we would see on the playground or in fields were merely just rocks to us. However, there are more to rocks than what we think.
The children at the ASI Children’s Center learned a lot about rocks this week from Geology students, Tina Ures and Ryan McCoy from the Geology Club!
Tina and Ryan stopped by this week and showed the children samples of different types of rocks and tools that geologists use for research in the field. Then afterwards, the children went on a field trip to the Geology Department in Placer Hall to view and sketch the rocks on display.
