With just a few days before we head off for break, I would like to take the opportunity to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!
There are many things to be thankful for each and every day of our lives. Even the smallest blessing should be counted as something extraordinary and not be taken for granted.
While we are at home grubbing on turkey and mashed potatoes enjoying the company of our families, there are some people who don’t get that same experience.
For some families it is even hard to afford the basic necessities, plus adding gifts on top of that in this economy.
It is essential for us to find ways to give back to the community during the holidays and give thanks for what we have in our lives.
The fact that we have made it this far in life is because we have pushed ourselves to be where we are, but we have not done it alone. No matter if there are no gifts under the tree or food on the table this week; we will always have family, friends, or both—no matter how cheesy that sounds.
Being able to have an education and go to a community college or a university is a great thing. So when you sit down at the table with the people that you love this holiday season, know that you are fortunate and try to make a difference in the lives of others for that is what the season is all about.
Thanksgiving reminds us to be grateful. On this national holiday and every day, we give thanks, especially for the little things.
This Thanksgiving, enjoy the food, the company, and even the day off from work. But, more than anything, appreciate the fact that you have so much to appreciate. Have a relaxing and warm Thanksgiving, Hornets!
