Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers

The mission of SHPE is to change lives by empowering the Hispanic community to realize its fullest potential and to impact the world through STEM awareness, access, support and development.

The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Inc. is a non-profit nation-wide organization dedicated to increase the participation of college students in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math fields (STEM). Sacramento State SHPE enhances opportunities for personal and professional growth through academic and social responsibilities. Our Vision is a world where Hispanics are highly valued and influential as the leading innovators, scientists, mathematicians, and engineers. SHPE at Sacramento State continues to provide active professional and academic support, career and technical development, community involvement, and recruitment and retention of top-tier Hispanic students. SHPE is also devoted to helping members develop their social skills by participating in community service and hosting social events within our own chapter. Events such as the corn maze, resume workshops, cookouts, fundraising socials, and game night allow our members to network in a relaxed environment with other students that share their culture.
