Re-Live the Legacy: Cesar Chavez Day

Posted by & filed under Campus Life, News.

According to Google, the definition of community service is voluntary work intended to help people in a particular area. One man who was known and honored for his dedication and commitment in community service is Cesar Chavez.

Chavez was the late founder and president of the United Farm Workers of America. He worked hard for the cause of farm workers and all workers alike. As a labor leader, Chavez led marches, boycotts and a couple of hunger strikes.

Last year, 31 students volunteered at the American River Parkway Foundation in Rancho Cordova for Cesar Chavez Community Service Day. Let’s get that number up this year!

Now you can relive his legacy and carry on torch by volunteering with ASI. Register here: http://goo.gl/RxG0s or in the ASI Hotspot by March 11th.
