Have you ever wondered what it would be like to make a real difference on campus? Have you ever wanted to represent other students on campus? Now is the time for you to get ready, get set, and RUN!
ASI Elections are held each year during the Spring Semester. During elections, officers are elected to serve as the student government for Sac State. Open positions include the ASI President, Executive Vice President, Vice President of Finance, Vice President of University Affairs and Vice President of Academic Affairs. Additional officers are elected to represent various colleges including Arts and Letters, Business, Education, Engineering and Science, Health and Human Services, Graduate, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies, and Undeclared.
There are many benefits to running for office. You can get great resume building experiences, receive priority registration, build your leadership skills, and receive a scholarship to help offset the cost of your education.
There are a number of eligibility criteria such as grade point average (GPA), residency units, and “good standing” status that are evaluated by the Vice President of Student Affairs Office to determine if Sac State students may run for student government positions.
If you are interested in running for office, you will need to attend one of the mandatory workshops. You will also need to fill out the Candidate Election Packet, which is due on March 15th by 4:00pm.
