Are you a foodie that enjoys exploring new cultures and fine cuisine one bite at a time? Sacramento is the perfect place for you to be! Many students fail to realize that Sacramento is not only California’s capital, but is also one of the few food capitals of the nation.
Surrounded by farm counties (such as Yolo, Placer, El Dorado, and Sutter) Sacramento is centrally located to provide farm-to-fork fresh products to restaurants in and around the area.
This Saturday on September 26th from 11am-6pm, Sacramento residents will be gathering Downtown to celebrate local farmers and their supporters at Sacramento’s annual Farm-To-Fork Festival. The festival will include: various food, wine, and beer from local vendors, cooking demonstrations, and live music. While entry to this event is free, unfortunately the food is not. However, we are quite sure that each plate will be worth every penny.
So, take a break from studying this weekend and be sure to go out and support a great event and cause. You do not want to miss out on this opportunity to indulge in great music, good company, and delicious food. Be sure to post pictures of the event to your social media accounts, and #SacStateASI so we can keep up with all the fun you have! The entry with the best picture will have a chance to win an ASI Sac State Swag bag!
