Fresh Air Activities: Take a Fresh Breath of Life

Posted by & filed under News, Rec & Adventure.

We all need to get away from the desk, the books, the papers…Sure the weather is getting colder, but the air is crisp and refreshing. Take a break from the stress and rediscover the feeling of freedom; rediscover what the world looks like away from your daily routine. Looking out the window and dreaming is not the same as being on the other side of the glass.

Fresh air, breathe it in.

A few things for you to do:

Peak Adventures, ASI Sacramento State 2012

The Peak Adventures Hike of the Month is at Effie Yeaw Nature Center this Sunday, November 11. For those of you who don’t know Effie Yeaw is, check out the website here. Don’t worry, Peak Adventures lists this hike at Activity Level 1 Easy Going:

EASY GOING: Designed to focus on the experience and not the journey. These trips will have a shorter duration of time for any physical activity, they will be lower in mileage, and most will be a great fit for the entire family. You do not need any previous experience to thoroughly enjoy yourself on these trips.

The hike: 11/11/2012, 11:00 a.m – 4:00 p.m.

Prices: Sac State Student: $ 14.00 Affiliate: $ 18.00 Public: $ 20.00

Sign up for this hike here.

You can always check out the Aquatic Center about 15 miles from campus at Lake Natoma. You can rent bicycles, kayaks, canoes, paddle boats and more for VERY AFFORDABLE prices. The Aquatic Center activities are very calm and relaxing and great for a nice getaway from the hustle-and-bustle of everyday life.

This is a great opportunity to spend time with a significant other, a group of friends, family, or just some peaceful alone time to collect you thoughts and connect with the outdoors.

See, ASI offers great things off-campus that get your mind off school and help you relieve some stress. So do yourself a favor because you owe it to yourself to take a break.

Have a wonderful weekend, don’t forget to stop and smell the roses.
