The California Higher Education Student Summit, currently in it’s nineteenth year, is an annual conference hosted by CSSA, that empowers students to become change agents in advocating for an accessible, affordable, and quality system of public higher education for all Californians.
CHESS CONFERENCE TO TAKE PLACE – MARCH 8-10TH, 2014
During this two day conference, students will have the opportunity to participate in various training sessions on student leadership and governance, higher education and public policy, and learn to conduct successful lobby visits in preparation for Advocacy Day. In addition, students are provided the unique opportunity to collaborate and network with state legislators and student leaders from all of CSU’s 23 campuses.
CHESS will take place in Sacramento at the Grand Sheraton ending in an Advocacy Day to use the skills learned from the weekend Conference. There is also a CHESS Reception on campus March 7th that will be kicking the weekend off.
The Office of Governmental Affairs will be selecting 20 students to attend this year’s CHESS for free!
