Support two great causes through the ASI Clothing Drives!

This Spring semester, we are having two clothing drives to support two great causes: Queer Prom and the Professional Clothing drive. Both clothing drives support Sacramento State students in need. You can donate from March 25 through April 5.

The Queer Prom Clothing Drive is a collaborative effort between ASI and the Sacramento State Pride Center. For this drive, we are accepting

new or gently used items of expression for students to wear during the Queer Prom for Pride Week on Friday, April 19. Items of expression can be anything from formal and semi-formal clothing items to accessories.

To donate to this clothing drive, look for the drop-off boxes at the following locations:

  • ASI Hot Spot, first floor of the University Union
  • Serna Center, Riverfront Center
  • Residence Halls
  • Women’s Resource Center, University Union
  • Pride Center, University Union
  • Multi-Cultural Center, Library Breezeway

The Professional Clothing Drive will benefit Sacramento State students in need of attire when searching for internships and careers. We are accepting dress shirts, belts, blazers, blouses, skirts, dress shoes, heels, neck ties, pant suits, and similar attire. This clothing drive is a collaborative effort among ASI, the ASI Food Pantry, the Community Engagement Center, the DEGREES Project, the Internship and Career Center, and Student Affairs Case Management.

You can donate to the Professional Clothing Drive in the following locations:

  • Global Lounge, Library Breezeway 1000
  • World Languages and Literature, Mariposa 2051
  • Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, Mariposa 3000
  • Department of Social Work, Mariposa 4010

In support of both clothing drives, you can attend the Spring Clean Climb on April 4, 3 to 6pm, at the Peak Adventures Challenge Center. One clothing donation is needed for admission into the event. Admission into the event results in unlimited climbing, access to free snacks and refreshments, live music, and awesome door prizes.

More clothing donations result in more door prize tickets, which increases your chances to win! Close-toed shoes are mandatory. Learn more about the event at the Peak Adventures website.
