New Year’s has always been a time for looking back to the past, and more importantly, forward to the coming year. It’s a time to reflect on the changes we want (or need) to make and resolve to follow through on those changes. Did your New Year’s resolutions make our top ten list?
1) Spend More Time With Family
Everyone’s busy these days, it’s true. But blood is thicker than water, and the beginning of the year is an ideal time to reconnect with family that you haven’t seen in a while.
2) Get Fit!
It’s time to make your way to the gym and sign-up for a membership! You’ll thank yourself in the long run as it will be an incentive to go and get your body moving! Trust us when we say that you will be guaranteed to see results…..Be consistent!
3) Quit Smoking/Drinking
This habit can be a tough one to break! Like many addictions, they are detrimental to one’s life and damaging to the body. Quitting now can cut your risk of diseases caused by smoking and drinking. You will be left feeling stronger and have more energy to be at your best when school resumes.
4) Manage Debt
How about you lay off on using the credit card. Maybe you shouldn’t go out to eat as much…Now is the time to do your wallet a favor and be wise about your spending. By being financially responsible and managing the amount of money in your checking account will you create a stable living for yourself. Eventually you’ll have some extra cash on the side for your savings….Which is always a plus!! $$$
5) Study Hard
Did you receive some grades that you weren’t too happy about last semester? There is still hope! Winter Break is the perfect time to rest up for all of the studying and newly found dedication to your school work this Spring.
6) Meet More People
Expanding your friend base will not only open your eyes to a new world of opportunities but also to new ideas. You will increase your knowledge and expand your horizons to get a better understanding of life. Get out of your comfort zone and allow yourself to grow through people this year.
7) Do What You Love
Sometimes in the midst of the hustle throughout the day, we forget to sit down and relax. Ensure that you express yourself through doing things that are of interest to you.
8) Get Healthy
By changing your eating habits can one make some big changes in their lives. Make sure you get your daily amount of vitamins and nutrients. Distance yourself from fatty foods and acids and replace them with fruits and vegetables!
9) Start Networking
This is what will make your college experience worth it. Start looking for internships and job opportunities before graduation so that you can gain the skills necessary in your field or major. Get yourself out there to be a success!
10) Get Involved!
ASI has many programs and services to students. Now is the time to express interest in participating with KSSU, Safe Rides or planning an event on campus. There are many things for you to take part in and it’s up to you to make a move!
