1. Fresh & Local Produce on Campus
Well, where else can you find fresh vegetables, strawberries and newly baked bread on campus? At the ASI Farmer’s Market, there are a number of fruits, veggies, and even plants for you to purchase! Nothing tastes better than a locally grown meal!
2. Support Local Businesses & Farmers
By buying from local businesses and farmers, you’re supporting the local Sacramento economy. Not only will the money you spend stay in the area, but it will also allow the farmers to continue to grow food for the rest of the year! Definitely a win-win situation, don’t you think?
Weekly trips to the grocery store may cause you to remember what fruits and veggies to available to purchase, but at the Farmer’s Market, you can expect the unexpected. With products from local farmers, you can expect them to have a wide variety of different vegetables and fruits that may not be available for purchase at grocery stores you frequent.
We all know that the cost of anything factors in where you should and should not shop. Farmer’s Markets tend to be a lot cheaper than their grocery store counterparts, so a delicious meal at a lesser cost is better for your body and budget.
5. It’s Fun!
What better way to connect with the Sac State community than by attending the ASI Farmer’s Market? It’s a great way to meet other students or members of the Sac State community and let’s face it, fresh produce, music from KSSU AND meeting new people? It doesn’t get any better than this.
