Internal Committees

Internal ASI committees take part in decisions that affect changes in ASI directly. Most internal committees focus on figuring out where ASI’s money should go through the yearly budget, scholarships and grants. Internal committees include:

ASI Audit Committee

This committee shall recommend to the ASI Board of Directors the retention and termination of the independent auditor.

ASI Scholarship Committee

The committee manages the annual ASI scholarship program. For more information please visit Scholarships & Grants


ASI Memorial Scholarship Committee

The committee is in charge of awarding and marketing the five memorial scholarships. The Scholarships include the Shaun Lumachi, Ron Tanton, Arnulfo Lara, Chris Ramos and Bradley Bayless scholarships.  To apply for the scholarships or for more information please visit Scholarships & Grants.

DOC Committee

The Dollars for Organizations and Clubs (DOC) Committee, shall serve as the funding body for: recognized students, organizations and clubs deemed in good standing. For more information please visit DOC grants.

ASI Finance and Budget Committee

The committee shall receive and review program proposals that financially impact Associated Students.

Diversity Work Team

Shall be responsible for presenting to the ASCSUS Board of Directors issues pertaining to culture, that may or may not be directly related to education.

Green Team

The committee will advise the University of source reduction, recycling, and other environmental activities.


Internal Affairs Committee

The Internal Affairs Committee conducts a yearly review of the ASCSUS Operating Rules and makes recommendations to the Board for needed changes.

Student Relations Committee

Responsible for a yearly student relations campaign. Responsible for performing Student Needs Assessments, Focus Groups, Surveys, or other information gathering.

Academic Affairs Advisory Council (AAAC)

The Academic Affairs Advisory Council (AAAC) focuses on the relationship between students at large, ASI college directors, and the ASI Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA) in the context of academics.  Students serve as the consultative body for the VPAA, who chairs these meetings. Most often input surrounding agenda items within the faculty senate and its subcommittees is requested. The opinion of committee members is frequently sought after, and as members they are encouraged to initiate discussion/desired change surrounding any academic polices.  All meetings are open to the public.

University Affairs Advisory Committee

This committee shall advise the ASI Vice President of University Affairs on university issues at Sacramento State as well as higher education issues across the state and country. The Committee is charged with the creation and promotion of one Campus Campaign which shall last one month. The purpose shall be to raise awareness about any campus issue(s), thus to promote campus unity and empowerment.

Sexual Assault Prevention Student Advisory Committee

Under the direction of the Vice President of University Affairs, the Sexual Assault Prevention Student Advisory Committee (SAPSAC) shall continue ASI’s support in promoting a safe campus with zero tolerance for Title IX violations. The SAPSAC is charged with coordinating outreach, and supplementing services provided by the University to prevent and educate students about sexual violence.
