- Mandatory Attendance at ONE Candidate Workshop. See dates below. Candidates can attend a workshop before or after submitting an application.
Grant for Students Seeking Election
ASI offers a grant for students seeking to run for office. ASI will award up to 7 grants, each worth up to $125 as reimbursement of campaign costs. The purpose of this grant is to promote and acknowledge students who are active and involved in the Sac State Campus Community. This grant will reduce financial barriers to students seeking to run for office in ASI Elections. The ASI Election Grant may only be utilized for items that must be claimed on the Campaign Expenditure report form and meet all ASI Election Code Standards. Students may apply for the 2019 ASI Election Grant in the Candidate Application. The deadline to apply is 4:00PM on Friday, March 8, 2019.
Mandatory Candidate Workshop
Candidates must attend one of the workshops as scheduled below* prior to the filing deadline of the Candidate Election Application, on Friday, March 8, 2019, at 4:00 PM. Candidates must attend the full workshop presentation, so arrive on time!
*Per Elections Code IV.C 1) Candidate workshops are mandatory for all candidates prior to the deadline for filing Candidate Elections Packets; 2) Failure to attend a mandatory workshop will result in ineligibility to run for office; 3) If a candidate is unable to meet during scheduled times, the candidate may contact the Executive Director for special arrangements. Special arrangements are contingent on the Executive Director’s availability. 4) Candidates will only be posted as eligible to campaign when the workshop is completed and all other requirements are met.

Mandatory VPSA Workshop for Eligible Candidates
After being notified of eligibility by the ASI Executive Director, potential candidates must attend this mandatory workshop with the Vice President of Student Affairs. Following completion of this workshop, potential candidates will receive their final approval and notice of eligibility to run for office.

Candidate Photo Shoot
After being deemed eligible for candidacy, candidates must have their photo taken by ASI to be uploaded into the Voter Booklet and Voting Ballot. Presidential Tickets should have their photos taken together. If a candidate is unable to make it during the allotted time window, a silhouette will be posted in place of their photo within the Voter Booklet and Voting Ballot. Candidates will not be allowed to submit their own photos.

ASI Elections Executive Candidate Forums
During the Executive Candidate Forums, executive candidates will have the opportunity to answer a few questions about the positions they are running for, describe their experience, and what they plan to do once in office if elected. Before you make any final decisions join us during the forums which will all take place in the University Union. All forum dates are detailed below.
